Sauk County Fairgrounds
Owned by the Sauk County Agricultural Society, the Fairgrounds now have solar arrays helping to offset power needs on the grounds. The solar arrays at the Sauk County Fairgrounds were installed by All Sky Energy LLC and funded by the Friends of the Sauk County Fair. Together the ground-mounted and roof-mounted arrays have a rated capacity of 19.24 kilowatts (kW) DC and have been producing close to the projected average annual production of 26,810 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity. The ground-mounted system at the Fairgrounds is close to the optimum size to meet the electrical consumption of the average Wisconsin home. Check back on the Sauk County Fairgrounds website for more information that may be posted about the arrays. Powered Up Baraboo sponsored the interpretive signs that appear on the Cattle Barn and the Litscher Pavilion. The signs give some basic information about the solar arrays.
